Text and captions are powerful tools—but they don’t need to be complicated. The goal is to make your video clear, engaging, and accessible without overdoing it.

Step 1: Add a Title Overlay

Once your video is edited, start by adding a title overlay at the beginning.

This grabs attention and reinforces your hook. It helps viewers know what your video is about even if they’re scrolling quickly.

Examples:

Keep your title text short and clear. something that instantly tells viewers what they’ll get.

Positioning your Text

Position your text in the center of the video if possible. Or up top if you have space above your head, but not too high. Don’t worry if it covers your face a bit. As long as it’s legible.

❌ DON’T place the text at the bottom or itll be covered by the IG or TikTok UI.

❌ DON’T place the text too high or it’ll also be covered as well.

❌ DON’T make your text too BIG. It’s easy to forget what the scale looks like full-screen on your phone. Also the sides edges of your video will be cut off in the Reels and TikTok feed, so don’t go edge to edge.

When in doubt, just do simple white text with a black stroke.
