I’ve been editing videos for over 15 years now—10 of those in Premiere and After Effects. But I still choose to edit most of my short-form content on my phone. It’s not about what’s best—it’s about what makes the process quick and sustainable.
This whole content creation thing needs to fit into your life.
This is more about your habits and rituals.
And don’t forget, we spent more time on the IDEA, so that we could keep things simpler in the edit. So trust me, editing with your thumbs is easier than you’d think.
Plus, no waiting for your computer or editing software to boot up, no managing files, no feeling chained to a desk after a long day.
And now you can edit whenever you have downtime—on your lunch break, on the couch, even in bed. It’s just swapping the time you’d spend scrolling with time spent creating.
So, please, even if you’re a creative who knows the fancier editing tools, I want you to start editing on your phone. At least for now.
